Hunter will be featured speaker at GOP ClubSTATESVILLE ó U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, an announced GOP candidate for president, will be the featured speaker at the Iredell Republican Men’s Club Monday.
The club meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Fat Boy’s restaurant in Mooresville, at Exit 36 off Interstate 77, which is N.C. 150.
Hunter has served in the U.S. Congress since 1980. He is ranking the Republican and former chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. Hunter is a Vietnam veteran and has a son who served two tours with the U.S. Marines in Iraq.
According to a club press release, “Hunter is a solid conservative, with a lifetime 92 percent rating from the American Conservative Union and an A-plus rating from the National Rifle Association. He supports the border fence and is strongly opposed to any sort of amnesty for illegal aliens.”
