staff report
A Salisbury woman has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle in a fatal wreck on Agner Road.
Trooper A.M. Burr of the N.C. Highway Patrol charged Melody Ann Polk, 52, of 210 Oakhurst Drive.
Burr said Polk’s driving left of center caused the wreck that killed Lianna Cox, 47, of 160 Sun Fish Terrace. She died last Thursday around 8:30 p.m. when her 2001 Ford Focus collided with the Ford Explorer driven by Polk.
Initially, Polk told officers that the other vehicle crossed the center line and struck her vehicle.
Bond was set at $10,000. Polk is set to appear in Rowan District Court on Aug. 1.
