LANDIS ó Police are investigating an incident in which a surveillance camera filmed a man being assaulted at an automated teller machine early Monday.
Sun Trust Bank employees discovered blood on the ATM when they came to work Monday morning.
Police Chief Reggie Faggart said employees called the department at 8:30 a.m., concerned that something had taken place outside the bank at 600 S. Main Street.
Faggart said security video showed two men arriving at the bank around 4:30 a.m. Monday. He said an altercation took place a short time later.
“It appears a man had been assaulted,” he said. Faggart said he couldn’t provide more detail.
“The man did go to Rowan Regional Medical Center where he told staff he was involved in a car accident,” Faggart said.
The man was treated for cuts and bruises and was later released from the hospital, Faggart said.
Police continue investigating the incident and declined to release names at this time. No arrests have been made.
