Carrie Hoffner of Mooresville recently attended the Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders at N.C. State University in Raleigh.
The N.C. Farm Bureau sponsored the event.
Participants are selected after a rigorous application process.
During the weeklong event, Hoffner toured NCSU’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and met with students and faculty to discuss current issues in the food, fiber and natural resources industries.
Each day ended with leadership development sessions.
Hoffner also participated in a service learning project for Raleigh Parks and Recreation in which a playing field was refinished and a fence built at a Raleigh park.
