People calling the Rowan County Courthouse recently to get information for jury duty or court proceedings got a message indicating the telephone numbers have been changed.
A recorded prompt provides the new numbers. The prompt will alert callers of the number changes for a short time.
“The whole phone system has changed statewide,” Clerk of Court Jeff Barger explained.
He said the change affects agencies in the courthouse including clerk of court, child support, civil and criminal court, estates, small claims, district attorney, judges and magistrates.
Phone numbers have been changing in each North Carolina county and Rowan was the most recent.
“It was our time to do it,” Barger said.
