LEXINGTON (AP) ó Davidson County sheriffís deputies say a suspect was killed and four people wounded in a shooting near Lexington.
WSJS-AM in Winston-Salem reported deputies were called to the home shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday.
A news release from the sheriffís department said deputies heard several gunshots. Sheriff David Grice says one man had escaped with a gunshot wound.
The Sheriffís Response Team negotiated with the suspect and a 17-year-old girl and a 30-year-old woman were released, each after being wounded.
Before deputies entered the home to rescue a 13-year-old boy, the 60-year-old man tried to leave and was shot by deputies. The boy was also wounded.
None of the names have been released.
A sheriffís spokesman did not immediately return a phone message Thursday.
