Yard sale to benefit Humane Society

The Humane Society of Rowan County is accepting donations for its upcoming yard sale to be held 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the 52 East Center on East Innes Street beside Norma’s Uniforms.
Furniture, indoor and outdoor household items, plants and any articles in good condition will be accepted. A tax-deductible receipt will be provided upon request.
Persons wishing to donate items should call 704-636-5700 to arrange for pick up or delivery of items by Thursday, May 14. Items may also be brought to the site on the day of the sale.
Also, annual summer dog washes will begin Saturday, June 20, and will continue on the third Saturday of each month through September. The dog washes will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind Salisbury Mall.
Cost of washes will remain unchanged from previous years. Volunteers are needed. Call 704-636-5700 to sign-up.
Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Proceeds from the organization’s fundraisers are used to rescue and rehabilitate sick and injured stray and abandoned animals.
Donations of pet food may be brought to any of the organization’s functions and will be used to assist pet owners who are having difficulty purchasing food for their animals.
