Wright facing additional charges

A 58-year-old man who is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center on charges of secretly videotaping a minor now faces additional charges.
Mitchell Perry Wright now faces three more felony counts of secretly peeping on the same 9-year-old girl.
Wright, of 770 Mount Moriah Church Road, Landis, was charged Monday with multiple felony counts of secretly peeping into a room with a female and five counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
With the additional charges filed, Wright’s bond has been increased by $10,000 to $51,000.
The recordings were discovered when federal agents asked for assistance in searching Wright’s house for suspected child pornography.
Investigators said the recordings were made when Wright lived at 121 Myrtle Goodnight Road, China Grove.
Investigators are also looking at the possibility of other victims in the case.
