With two weeks left in this yearís campaign, the Rowan County United Way is at 48 percent of its $1.7 million goal.
Volunteers gathered today  at Team Chevrolet to get the latest update.
ěThis is a tough year,î said  Ronnie Smith, volunteer and unofficial cheerleader for the United Way. ěWe are at less than half. Please, if you are not already, become a part of the campaign.î
There are thousands of people in the community who depend on the money raised from this campaign, he said following the meeting.
