Staff reportThe Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of missing guns.
Forrest Wade Holmes of 1290 Mahaley Road, reported the theft of three pistols from his home between Aug. 22 and Sept. 29.
The pistols taken are: .40 caliber Smith & Wesson Sigma; .380 Smith & Wesson; and a .25 Rabon. The total value is estimated at $975.
Mell Samuel Adkins Jr., of 3765 Needmore Road, Woodleaf, reported losing a pistol in a field near his home. The lost weapon is identified as a .62 caliber muzzle load pistol.
