Two charged in Kannapolis car break-ins

Two Kannapolis men have been charged in a string of vehicle break-ins.
Daniel Sosa Ocampo, 912 West B St., and Kevin Freeman, 1001 China Grove Road, both 16, are charged with six counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, one count of felony breaking and entering and two counts of misdemeanor larceny, according to reports at the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office.
Ocampo is also charged with one count of manufacturing marijuana.
Freeman is being charged separately for violating his probation, according to the Rowan County Detention Center’s online database.
According to arrest reports on file at the Magistrate’s Office, the men broke into vehicles and, in one case, a garage searching for property.
One victim’s wallet containing credit cards was stolen.
Freeman was being held on $10,000 bond at the Rowan County Detention Center late Friday night.
Ocampo was held on $15,000 bond.
