A tractor trailer overturned on Interstate 85 south near mile marker 81 just before noon today, backing traffic up for about four hours.
Witnesses near the scene said it appeared the truck’s driver lost control and overcorrected, sending the tractor trailer sliding and facing the opposite direction.
The driver was trapped briefly and then was able to get out of the truck, N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper D.R. Morgan said.
The truck’s driver, Semsudin Bedakoeic, 60, of Florida, was charged with failure to maintain lane control.
