Salisbury firefighters responded to a fire at 706 S. Ellis St. just before 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Capt. Bobby Fox, with the Salisbury Fire Department, said the fire was contained to the exterior of the structure, causing minor damage.
“The fire appeared to be the result of power lines rubbing against the tree, chafing the lines,” said Fox.
Employees from Duke Energy were also there to determine how the fire happened, and to repair the power lines.
No one was injured in the small blaze. The Salisbury Fire Department and Salisbury Police Department responded to the call, with officers blocking off access to Ellis St.
