The southbound lanes of Interstate 85 were closed for almost two hours Sunday night after an accident near Exit 85 in Davidson County, about three miles from the Rowan County line.
A helicopter was called in to transport one of two passengers in the 7:40 p.m. accident, but more information was not available at presstime.
Southbound traffic on the interstate was diverted off of Exit 85 onto Old Salisbury Road and N.C. 150 until the interstate was reopened at about 9:30 p.m., according to a spokesman for the N.C. Highway Patrol.
