Three-month investigation leads to arrest of pair

Two people face drug charges following a three-month investigation involving several agencies.
On June 1, investigators with the Mooresville Police Department and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Stephen Tranumn and Cassandra Lisa Coleman on numerous charges after a the investigation involving the Mooresville Police Department, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and the Salisbury Police Department.
During the investigation, undercover officers from the Mooresville Police Department bought large quantities of MDMA, also known as ecstasy, from Tranumn.
Investigators with the Mooresville Police Department originally bought 40 MDMA tablets from Tranumn in Mooresville, and then purchased another 70 MDMA tablets from him during a second transaction.
On May 7, the undercover officer met with Tranumn in the McDonald’s parking lot at 929 S. Jake Alexander Blvd. in Salisbury, and bought 100 MDMA tablets from him.
On June 1, Tranumn and his girlfriend, Cassandra Coleman, met with the undercover officer in Mooresville and sold an additional 120 tablets.
Tranumn and Coleman were then arrested and Coleman was found to have an additional 72 MDMA tablets in her pocketbook.
Coleman agreed to a search of her home at 245 Pickler Road, Salisbury.
Investigators with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office found and seized another 247 MDMA tablets there. During the investigation, 549 MDMA tablets were seized with an approximate street value of $10,980.
Investigators charged Coleman, 27, with one count of trafficking in MDMA, two counts of possession with intent to sell schedule I controlled substance, one count of maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, and one count of conspiracy to traffic in MDMA. She was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center pending a first appearance in court.
Investigators charged Tranumn, 38, with six counts of trafficking in MDMA, three counts of sale/delivery of schedule I controlled substance, four counts of possession with intent to sell schedule I controlled substance, and three counts of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances. He was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under $100,000 secured bond.
