A Salisbury teenager faces charges of kidnapping and assault of a 16-year-old girl.
Robert Maurice Singletary, 18, of North Main St., is charged with second-degree kidnapping, assault on a female and assault by strangulation.
Officer R.K. Rule told a county magistrate that Singletary held the victim around her neck cutting off her breath and that he also terrorized her.
Singletary is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $100,000 bond.
