Sherri Hill crowned Miss Spencer-Rowan 2009

SPENCER ó Sherri Hill was crowned Miss Spencer-Rowan 2009 at a pageant held Friday during the annual Spencer Jaycees Street Dance in downtown Spencer.
Hill, 24, is a native of East Spencer and daughter of Althea Hill and the late Howard Solomon
She graduated from North Rowan High school in 2003 and from Catawba College in 2007 with a bachelors in sociology and a minor in psychology. She is currently attending graduate school at Capella University, where she is working toward her master of science degree in marriage and family therapy.
She is a family empowerment social worker at Family Services of Davidson County Inc.
First runner-up in the pageant was Alyssa Klaus, 20, of Salisbury.
The daughter of Tim and Laurie Klaus, she graduated from Timothy Academy of Salisbury and is currently enrolled at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
Second runner-up was Taylor Downs, 17, of Salisbury.
The daughter of Mike and Sidney Allen, she is a senior at Salisbury High School.
Miss Spencer-Rowan receives a $300 scholarship and also serves as Miss Holiday Caravan in the Holiday Caravan parade.
