Several historical groups attend May 25th memorial service at Salisbury National Cemetery

On Monday, May 25, members of the Davidson Guards Camp 1851 attended a memorial service at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
The service was sponsored by the Gibbons-Burke Camp No. 2 Sons of Union Veterans. Wreaths were placed by several historical groups on the mass grave trenches where both Confederate and Union soldiers are buried. Davidson Guards members Gary Bailey, Tim Bobbitt, Casey Becknell, Grady Hall, Hunter Smith and Michael Scott participated in the service.
Also attending were members of the Robert F. Hoke Chapter 78 United Daughter’s of the Confederacy; Elizabeth Maxwell Steele Daughters of the American Revolution; Charles F. Fisher Chapter 73 Children of the Confederacy; Rowan Resolves Children of the American Revolution; and Rowan Resolves Sons of the American Revolution.
