The Salisbury/Rowan Senior Games has returned and older adults are taking part in a variety of competitions.
Track and field events took place at Catawba College on Thursday after a delay caused by inclement weather. Over the next couple of weeks, competitors ages 55 and older will gather for bocce, golf, cycling and other events around the area.
This year’s senior games sponsors are: Gold, Comfort Keepers and Genesis Health Care; Silver, Cheerwine and Humana; Bronze, Jake Alexander Auto Sales and Rowan Regional Medical Center.
“Without our sponsors, none of this would be possible,” said Phyllis Loflin-Kluttz, Senior Games coordinator.
The Salisbury/Rowan Senior Games is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a year-round health and wellness program for adults 55 years of age and older.
