Nancy Wells, a member of the Salisbury Rowan Quilt Guild, created a special quilt that will go up for auction at “Starry, Starry Night” Charitable Gala Auction on Saturday, Oct. 17, to benefit Charlotte Rescue Mission.
The quilt is approximately 67 by 77 inches and features fabric transferred from Bob Timberlake prints. This quilt was signed by Bob Timberlake (twice) and was the winner of the NC Quilt Guild Judges Choice Award for 2005.
The evening includes silent and live auctions, entertainment and dinner.
Wells went to Bob Timberlake Gallery to ask them permission to make the quilt and after it was complete, Timberlake signed it on the front and back. The quilt and its award ribbons were displayed for several months at the Bob Timberlake Gallery in Lexington.
Funds from this donation to the auction will go to support the long-term residential recovery programs for men and women struggling with homelessness, hopelessness and addiction. They also provide food, clothing, lodging, counseling, 12-step programs, medical care and much more to meet their needs spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially and vocationally.
