Salisbury native in World Series pregame ceremony

A Salisbury native was a member of the U.S. Naval Academy Color Guard that presented the national flag before Thursday’s World Series game between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in New York.
Midshipman 1st Class Jason Mazzoni carried the flag of the United States Marine Corps during pregame ceremonies. According to Post archives, Mazzoni is a 2005 graduate of Riverside High School in Durham and a 2006 graduate of Bridgton Academy Prep School in Hillsborough, where his parents, Bob and Deidre Mazzoni, live.
Other members of the color guard carried the U.S. flag, the U.S. Navy flag, the Brigade of Midshipmen flag.
