Salisbury man facing felony drug charges
A lane change on Interstate 85 early Monday landed a Salisbury man in jail on felony drug charges.
Tyrone Kareen Smith, 32, of 1312 Brenner Ave., is charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana and possession with intent to sell or distribute ecstasy.
Officers seized 85 units of ecstasy and 280 grams of marijuana.
Trooper S.B. Davidson of the N.C. Highway Patrol stopped Smith around 8:30 a.m. Monday on I-85 near mile marker 79.
Smith refused a request to search vehicle. At that point, a drug dog was brought in, resulting in the drug seizure.
Smith has five other felony cases pending.
He is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $125,000 bond. His first appearance in court is scheduled today.
