Restricted parking on Florial Street

Salisbury City Council has voted to restrict parking on a portion of Florial Street near its intersection with Bringle Ferry Road.
In response to a request from a citizen, city staff investigated parking at the intersection and found vehicles were parking on the east side of Florial Street close to the corner.
“Since Florial Street is approximately 20 feet wide,” Traffic Engineer Wendy Brindle said, “vehicles parking near the intersection hinder access to the area.”
Council followed the recommendations of the Fire Department, Code Services and Engineering Division to restrict parking on both sides of Florial Street within 50 feet of its intersection with Bringle Ferry Road.
It will help with the access for emergency vehicles, Brindle reported.
