Salisbury motorists should expect delays this week on Mahaley Avenue and on West Henderson Street behind Rowan Regional Medical Center as street crews do some resurfacing.
Repaving began Monday on Mahaley Avenue and will continue through today. The street is being resurfaced between Mocksville Avenue and Innes Street.
Mahaley will remain open throughout, but motorists will have to rely on flagmen and, at times, follow-the-leader vehicles.
On Wednesday and Thursday, street crews will turn their attention to West Henderson Street behind the hospital.
The street will be milled Wednesday in preparation for resurfacing Thursday.
Flagmen will be in the area to direct traffic. Again, the street will remain open but there could be delays.
West Henderson Street serves the hospital’s parking deck and the emergency room end of the hospital. Emergency vehicles will still be able to use Barker Street.
Contractor for the paving work is Thompson-Arthur, formerly APAC.
