The American Red Cross is currently experiencing reduced supplies of type O negative blood. In emergency situations, hospitals rely on type O negative blood because there’s often not enough time to determine a patient’s blood type. All blood types are needed, but there’s a critical need for type O.
You can help by giving blood at one of the following sites. Phone numbers are provided for appointments. All donors may register to win one of three $1,000 gas cards.
Just a reminder that 16-year-olds can donate blood, but they must have a parent or legal guardian with them and photo ID.
