RCCC classes
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will offer conversational Spanish classes beginning in January.
The classes will meet weekly for 2 1/2 hours. There is a registration fee of $120, plus a textbook that costs about $25.
– Conversational Spanish I ó 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Jan. 7 to March 25, at RCCC’s South Campus;
– Conversational Spanish II ó 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, Jan. 11 to April 5, at RCCC’s South Campus;
– Conversational Spanish I ó 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Jan. 26 to April 13, at RCCC’s North Campus; and
– Conversational Spanish II ó 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Jan. 28 to April 22, at RCCC’s North Campus.
RCCC will offer a training course for people wanting to be state-approved activity directors at long-term care facilities.
The 60-hour, state-approved course will be 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, Jan. 11 to March 22. The class will meet at Rufty-Holmes Senior Center in Salisbury. The course registration fee is $175, plus a textbook that costs about $56.
Participants will learn about state and federal regulations, how to plan and direct activities and various other duties included in the profession. The course includes hands-on and classroom instruction.
RCCC will also offer a residential contractor license examination review course beginning in January.
The 25-hour course will prepare students to take the North Carolina residential contractor licensing examination. The class will meet 5:45 to 8:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 12 through Feb. 11, at RCCC’s North Campus in Salisbury. The course fee is $120, plus three books.
