R3 Center offers workshops
The R3 Center is offering numerous career development workshops and resume clinics in April for adults in Cabarrus and Rowan counties. All of the programs are free.
Located at 164 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. in Kannapolis, the R3 Center is a career development center established by Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) to assist workers who are unemployed or under-employed.
The center’s April schedule of workshops includes the following sessions. The R3 Center strongly encourages clients to call the center in advance at 704-216-7201, and reserve a seat.
– New Client Launch ó 9 to 10 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 6 to 7 p.m. on Mondays; and 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. New Client Launch is an orientation program for persons who have never attended an R3 Center workshop.
– The ABCs of Computer Usage ó 10 a.m. to noon, April 3 and April 24.
– It’s Not Who You Know ó It’s Who You Meet ó 9, 10, 11 a.m., April 4.
– N.C. Research Campus Careers 101 ó 6 to 8 p.m., April 7, at RCCC’s North Campus, and 6 to 8 p.m., April 28 at the NCRC Visitor Center.
– Identifying Your Career Options �� 10 a.m. to noon, April 8 and April 17; 6 to 8 p.m., April 22; and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 30 (the latter session is at RCCC’s North Campus).
– Interview Techniques ó 9 to 11 a.m., April 9.
– Looking for Work at 50+ ó 6 to 8 p.m., April 14.
– Stand Out from the Competition ó 6 to 8 p.m., April 15.
– Looking for Work with a Criminal Record ó 9 to 11 a.m., April 16.
The R3 Center will offer a number of free resume clinics to help job searchers improve their current resume or create a new one from scratch. Please call to reserve a seat. Clinics are scheduled for:
– 9 a.m. on April 2, 7, 18 and 21.
– 2 p.m. on April 29.
All R3 Center services are free. The center’s office hours are: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. The center is open 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays for workshops and previously scheduled appointments only.
