Salisbury Police investigators are searching for a man they say hid in a local department store, stole shoes and broke a window to escape.
The incident occurred Monday around 10 p.m. when a man hid in the store until closing time, a police report said. He stole New Balance tennis shoes and used a chair to break a window.
He climbed out of the window and took off. Witnesses reported hearing the window breaking and seeing the man run toward K&W Cafeteria.
Police are looking for a black male in his late 30s. He was wearing blue jeans and a light blue shirt when the crime occurred, witnesses said.
