Police have charged two Salisbury men with the Wednesday afternoon robbery of First Legacy Federal Credit Union at 1400 W. Bank St.
Maron Tyrese Banner, 20, of 916 W. Horah St., and D’Andre Anthony Curry, 20, of 512 W. Horah St., are charged with felony robbery with a firearm or other dangerous weapon.
Police responded to the bank at 4:47 p.m. about a robbery that had just taken place.
According to an employee on duty, a black male came into the bank with a handgun, a black hoodie and a white T-shirt covering his face. He demanded money. A statement said the man pointed the gun at the teller and told her to “hurry up.” He took the money and walked out, leaving the area on foot.
A police dog tracked the suspect, later identified as Curry, to the 1200 block of W. Monroe St., where he still had the credit union money in his possession, police said. Banner was also in the bank at the time of the robbery with a handgun, according to police.
Salisbury Police Chief Mark Wilhelm said Banner has an account with the bank.
Banner remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under $100,000 secured bond. Curry remains in the county jail under a $150,000 secured bond.
