Plenty of Halloween fun around Rowan on Saturday

Spooktacular events will be going on across Rowan County Saturday with plenty of things for both young and old ghouls and goblins.
Downtown Salisbury will host a Halloween FunFest from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Salisbury Parks and Recreation and Downtown Salisbury Inc. are sponsoring the event, with costume contests, haunted trolley rides, games and more. Trick or treaters 12 and under can visit downtown merchants from 4 p.m. to 5p.m.
At the N.C. Transportation Museum, activities are going on from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. They include a Halloween-themed train ride with witches and friendly ghosts on board.
There will also be pumpkin painting, costume contests, and lots of games and fun at the Bob Julian Roundhouse.
The J.F. Hurley Family YMCA will host a Bedrock Halloween Carnival from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., complete with a costume contest, bouncy inflatables, “The Lost Cave,” a climbing rock, cake walk, games and more.
The Fulton Heights neighborhood of Salisbury will host its yearly Halloween carnival.
Starting at 5:30 p.m. at the 200 block of Mitchell Ave., will be a costume parade, followed by face painting, fortune telling, Hap’s hot dogs, sports activities, and trick or treating.
J.C. Price Post 107 on Old Wilkesboro Road will host a Halloween and crime prevention program with music, K-9s, fire trucks, food and candy.
If you’re feeling brave, check out Boogerwoods Haunted Trail or the Forbidden Forest, both located near Rockwell.
