The Rowan County Farm Bureau will sponsor a pancake supper to benefit agriculture education Saturday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the home of Randy and Pam Elium, 2085 Lake Road.
The bureau has set a fundraising goal of $20,000. All proceeds will be used for agriculture education projects. They include elementary classroom kits for “A Farmer Grows a Rainbow.” The kits are developed by the Farm Bureau and approved by the State Board of Education. Money is needed to purchase and place the kits in all county public and private elementary schools and with the county home school organization.
Another use for the money is for an exhibit at Discovery Place’s Discovery Kids location in Huntersville where students will experience planting, cultivating and harvesting garden crops.
All checks should be made payable to the Ag in the classroom Foundation.
