Staff report
One man was arrested following a large fight on South Main Street early Friday morning.
Salisbury Police reported receiving a call from a bouncer at a club reporting “an extremely large” fight at the intersection of South Main Street and Fisher Street.
Officer T.J. Crews reported that when he arrived he saw numerous people in the middle of South Main Street, some on the pavement, several throwing punches and one person falling down.
Crews yelled for the people to leave the area and most did after a short time.
The officer reported seeing one man push another against a building and repeatedly hit him.
At some point the man, whom police identified as Travis Mackenzie Sifford, took off running. Crews fired a Taser at Sifford. Although Sifford said the Taser did not affect him, he complied with the officer’s request to stop.
Sifford, 21, of 306 Rowan St., was charged with resisting delaying and obstructing a public officer.
