North Hills Christian School has asked the city of Salisbury to annex its 17.1 acres off West Innes Street.
If approved, the annexation would not be contiguous with the present city limits and would be considered a satellite annexation.
Salisbury City Council received the request Tuesday and instructed the city clerk to investigate whether it meets statutory requirements for a voluntary annexation.
Timothy Norris, board chairman for North Hills, signed the petition for North Hills.
