Zachary Oxendine
Air Force Airman Zachary L. Oxendine has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, core values, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training receive credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Liz Oxendine of Lakeshore Drive, Newport News, Va., and grandson of Lizzie Hyde of Salisbury.
Oxendine is a 2008 graduate of Woodside High School, Newport News.
David FespermanPV2 David A. Fesperman graduated with honors from the United States Army Basic Training on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at. Ft. Jackson, S.C.
Fesper-man was awarded the “Soldier Leader of the Cycle.” He was presented with a gold unit coin of excellence by Colonel Kevin Shwedo.
While in basic training he was trained in nuclear biological and chemical defense, basic rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and the Army Core Values.
Fesperman is a 2007 graduate of West Rowan High School. He is the son of Gary and Melody Eagle and David Fesperman. Grandparents are Allen and Jonnie Mabe and Rube and Rosalee Fesperman.
He is stationed at Fort Sill, Okla.
Michael RoseboroughSeaman Michael Wayne Roseborough graduated from the Great Lakes, Ill. Naval Command Training Center on March 13, 2009.
Rosebor-ough has been assigned to the Naval Air Station in Meridian, Miss. for specialized training in aviation administration.
He graduated from North Roan High School and Winston-Salem State University.
Roseborough is the son of Tangy H. and Michael Roseborough of Salisbury.
