A Salisbury man who wrecked his motorcycle got out of the hospital to discover someone had stolen his truck.
Travis Andrew Yost of 4270 U.S. 601 was seriously injured on Aug. 9 in a wreck on Bringle Ferry Road when his bike went off the road, hit a culvert, flipped over and hit a pole in a yard.
Yost was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center and transferred to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
On Monday, Yost filed a report with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reporting the theft of his 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup truck, valued at $10,000, and a motorcycle trailer, valued at $800.
Yost told investigators that he parked his truck and trailer at 1340 Crescent Road, Rockwell, and went for a ride.
Capt. John Sifford said when Yost got out of the hospital and went to get his truck, it was gone.
