A Salisbury man has been charged with stealing tools from his job and selling them at various pawn shops over a four-month period.
Eddie Sims, 34, of 1980 Ribelin Road, is charged with five counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, felony larceny by an employee, possession of stolen goods, possession of a weapon by a felon and two counts of larceny of a firearm.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the case.
Sims was arrested Thursday.
Authorities say Sims stole construction tools from JFM Inc. in Salisbury, where he worked. The tools were taken beginning sometime in January.
The tools were sold to Frank’s Pawnshop and Reliable Pawn, both in Salisbury, and EZ Pawn in Spencer.
