A Salisbury man was charged with taking tools from his job and selling them at various pawn shops for a four-month period.
Eddie Sims, 34, of 1980 Ribelin Road, was charged with five counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, felony larceny by an employee, possession of stolen goods, possession of a weapon by a felon and two counts of larceny of a firearm.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the case.
Officials say he took construction tools from JFM Inc. in Salisbury, where he worked.
The tools were then sold to Franks Pawnshop, Salisbury; EZ Pawn, Spencer; and Reliable Pawn also in Salisbury.
