Rowan County TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) gathered this past weekend in Monroe with other area TOPS members to honor their Summer Achievement winners. 17 TOPS chapters in 5 counties loss a total of 1,489 pounds. Awards went to best losers, exercise winners, perfect attendance winner and those with no gains for June, July and August.
Chapters in Salisbury and Rockwell were among the winners.
TOPS had a contest called “Feed the Hungry.” Members were to donate food equal to their weight loss. Over 900 pounds of food was collected. The Monroe First Baptist Mission team will donate it to local organizations.
