Three local students recently served as pages in the N.C. Senate.
Mary Margaret Mills, a student at Salisbury High School, is the daughter of Chris and Beth Mills of Salisbury. She was sponsored by Sen. Andrew Brock.
Elizabeth Scott Safrit, a student at A.L. Brown High School, is the daughter of Walter and Lynn Safrit of Kannapolis. She was sponsored by Sen. Fletcher Hartsell.
John Pressly Wilson Safrit, a student at Cannon School, is the son of Walter and Lynn Safrit. He, too, was sponsored by Hartsell.
All were appointed by Senate President Pro Tem Marc Basnight. They attended daily senate sessions and committee meetings and helped staff members with office duties.
