Proposed closingsHere is a list of crossings between Salisbury and Kannapolis and the N.C. Department of Transportation’s preliminary proposal.
Improved crossings- Webb Road;
– Centerview Street;
– Church Street;
– E. Ryder Street;
Improvements would include crossing gates and reworking to ensure that motorists can’t drive around gates.
Grade separations:- 22nd Street- 26th Street area in Kannapolis;
– Kimball Road (extended to U.S. 29);
– Peach Orchard-Peeler Road.
Grade separations are vehicle crossings above or below the tracks.
Closings:- 18th Street, Kannapolis;
– 29th Street, Kannapolis;
– East Mill St, Landis;
– North Central Ave;
– Eudy Road;
– Thom Street:
– Mount Hope Church Road.
– Four private crossings between China Grove and South Salisbury.
Depending on the final decision on grade separations, one or two additional crossings are also being evaluated for possible closing.
