The Cabarrus County Public Library’s One Book One Community activities go throughout the month of October. One Book One Community focuses on the novel “On Agate Hill” by Lee Smith. This novel explores North Carolina during the Reconstruction Era following the Civil War.
Book discussions will be held Oct. 6, 8, 13 and 14.
Also, free classes are offered to teach people how to access genealogy resources in researching family histories. The class will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Kannapolis branch of the Cabarrus County Public Library.
Upcoming activities for One Book One Community include an author visit by Lee Smith, music performances, theatrical performances, a local ghost tour and more. Plus, registration has started for the Pie Baking Contest and the Quilt Square Contest.
