Hudson Miller Tatum VFW Post Ladies Auxiliary is collecting items for Stockings for Soldiers, now through Oct. 1.
The post, at 1200 Brenner Ave., near the Hefner VA Medical Center, will be open to accept donations from 3 to 9 p.m., six days a week and 3-6 p.m. Sunday.
Items needed include hand-held games, small puzzle books, playing cards, CDs, individual canned fruits and meats, cookies, beef sticks and jerky, hard candy, gum, drink powders, individual instant coffee, cream and sugars; shampoo, dental items, deodorant, foot powder, shaving cream, swabs, socks, greeting cards, stamps.
Please, no glass or aerosol cans.
The stockings will be shipped to soldiers in Iraq for Christmas.
