Kannapolis Police are looking for an alleged sex offender, Pedro Canstuj-Maldonado.
On Feb. 19, a 15-year-old female victim reported to Kannapolis Police that she had been sexually assaulted over a period of time beginning when she was 13 years of age and continuing for over a year.
The suspect, Canstuj-Maldonado, 32, and was an acquaintance of the victim. Warrants for his arrest were obtained for the following offenses: Statutory rape of a 13-year-old by a male more than six years older and statutory sexual offense of a 13-year-old by a male more than six years older.
Police believe Canstuj-Maldonado is attempting to flee the country. He was last known to be operating a 1995 black four door Nissan Altima bearing N.C. registration NSV-9831.
