Attempted murder charge
KANNAPOLIS ó A Kannapolis man was charged Saturday with attempted murder in connection with an April shooting.
The Kannapolis Police Department charged Zachary Lee Honeycutt, 22, of 2525 Lane St. with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
According to an arrest warrant, Honeycutt shot Todd Barringer, of Elm Street, with a shotgun. The incident occurred April 28.
Honeycutt was being held Saturday night in the Rowan County Detention Center under $50,000 bond.
