Authorities believe a husband drove his wife to a local truck stop where she was cited for prostitution.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office cited Melanie Knox, 42, of 115 Woodlake Drive, Salisbury, with engaging in prostitution.
Her husband, Randall Knox, 45, was charged with aiding and abetting and driving while impaired.
On Friday around 11:20 p.m., Rowan Communications received a phone call about a woman going from truck to truck at a truck stop off I-85 south of Salisbury, said Capt. John Sifford.
When deputies arrived at the Wilco-Hess, 985 Peeler Road, they found Melanie Knox in a truck driven by Phillip Branch Jr., 29, of Morganton.
Branch was cited for engaging in prostitution.
Authorities said Randall Knox was stopped at Interstate 85 and Julian Road.
He told officials he dropped his wife off in the parking lot.
