Graduation 2009: Beaver graduates from NCSSM

Katherine “Katye” Julianna Beaver graduated on June 6 from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham.
Prior to her acceptance at NCSSM, she attended West Rowan High School, where she was an active member of FFA, a member of the Parliamentary Procedure Team, and a member of Junior Classical League.
While at NCSSM, Beaver participated in various clubs such as Teen Democrats, dance ensemble and Bhangra Club, was a Varsity cheerleader, and accepted the leadership position of Residential Life Assistant as a senior. She was a junior marshal and graduated with honors.
She is the daughter of Tim and Lydia Beaver of Salisbury.
Beaver will attend the College of Charleston in South Carolina, where she was awarded the Presidential Scholarship, Academic Scholarship and Academic Competitiveness Grant.
She is a member of the College of Charleston Cougars Division I cheerleading squad. Beaver has been accepted into the Honors College Program, and will double-major in political science and environmental studies.
