Give blood Tuesday
The Elizabeth Hanford Dole Chapter of the American Red Cross and the city of Salisbury will sponsor a summer blood drive at the Salisbury Civic Center on Tuesday, July 21, from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
All donors will receive an Arby’s sandwich, a Biscuitville ham or sausage biscuit and an American Red Cross T-shirt. For an appointment, call Sherry Smith, director of blood services, at 704-633-3854, ext. 105, or e-mail smiths@ehdoleredcross.org.
Walk-ins are welcome. The Civic Center is located at 315 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.
The American Red Cross needs your help saving lives. During the summer season, the blood supply dwindles. With donors on vacation and involved with other activities, collections tend to drop.
Every two seconds, someone in America needs blood, and every blood donation has the potential to save up to three people’s lives. Volunteer donors are the only source for blood, and patients rely on the community to provide them with lifesaving blood.
A United Way agency, the Elizabeth Hanford Dole Chapter of the American Red Cross is located at 1930 W. Jake Alexander Blvd.
