Erwin Middle School Principal Ray Whitaker has resigned for “personal reasons” the Rowan-Salisbury School System said in an e-mail this afternoon.
The resignation is effective Dec. 31 and Whitaker, who hasn’t been at the school this week, will be on personal leave through the end of the year, school system spokeswoman Rita Foil said in the e-mail.
Whitaker’s is the second resignation Rowan-Salisbury officials announced today. Hanford-Dole Elementary School Principal James Griffin has also resigned citing personal reasons and will work through Dec. 31.
