CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) ó North Carolina authorities say an eighth man has been arrested in a cockfighting operation in Caldwell County.

Forty-two-year-old David Lee Keller of Lenoir was arrested Tuesday and charged with cockfighting.

The Charlotte Observer reported that seven other men were charged in the case Saturday, when authorities say deputies found a cockfighting ring in the Colletsville area.

More than 60 roosters confiscated from the farm were being tested for avian flu. Animal control officials euthanized one of the birds Tuesday because of injuries suffered in suspected cockfighting.

It was unclear whether Keller had an attorney.
