Gardner-Webb summer graduation
BOILING SPRINGS óGardner-Webb University recently held its 2009 summer commencement exercises where a total of 321 students graduated. Graduates from the local region included the following:
Linwood: Susan Grubb, master’s degree in school administration.
Mocksville: William Lumley, BS, business administration; James Rogers, BS, social sciences.
Mooresville: Karen Bostic, MA, school administration; Andrea Johnson, BS, business administration; Leah Jones, MA, Elementary Education; Anna Miller, BS, social sciences.
Salisbury: Jeffrey Carter, MA/EDS, mental health counseling.
Albemarle: Lorie Gibson, BS, social sciences.
New London: Kimberly Knotts, BS, social sciences, magna cum laude, Alpha Chi status.
Indiana Wesleyan graduate
George Drexel of China Grove graduated Aug. 8 from Indiana Wesleyan University with an MBA in applied management.
Achievement Academy
Lynsey Corriher of China Grove, a student at China Grove Middle School, has been recognized as a U.S. National Honor Student Award winner by the U.S. Achievement Academy.
She is the daughter of Chris and Laurie Corriher of China Grove.
Justin Devante RaShad Adkins has been named an All-American Scholar by the U.S. Achievement Academy.
All-American Scholars must earn a 3.3 or higher grade-point average.
Adkins, a Salisbury High School student, was nominated by Adair Doran. He is the son of Rosa L. Adkins of Salisbury.
